Garlic demand surged

In France, the garlic sector notes that sales are 25% higher. The supposed virtues of garlic have caused an increase in demand, first in China and then in Europe.

 

 

 

French garlic professionals are in high demand. Garlic sales, and therefore consumption, are around 25% higher than a normal period. Despite the complete cessation of demand from the RHF (Catering outside the home), sales are sustained in supermarkets and hypermarkets.

 

 

 

In China since the beginning of the pandemic the population has increased its consumption of garlic, considered as the miracle product to strengthen its immunity. Chinese exports have stopped and caused prices to rise. Demand has turned to other countries such as Spain and France where professionals are seeing a marked increase in demand.
