The situation in Venezuela is not improving, the vegetable production is plummeting, due to a lack of seeds and agrochemicals.
FEDEAGRO, the Confederation of Agricultural Producers Association, said that the decline in production is increasing. He estimated that the tomato production will total only 150 000 tonnes while consumption reached 700,000 tons per year. Similar findings for the onion production, estimated at 230 000 tonnes while annual consumption is 600 000 tonnes.
Venezuela will have to massively import these products.
