In the first weeks of the 2022/23 season, Chilean cherry shipments to China showed a strong rise compared to the figures of the previous year, rising from 21,316 T to 64,023 T (+200.35%), according to ASOEX.
Air shipments have grown 24% year-on-year, while sea shipments grew from 12,331 T to 52,966 T (+330%) year-on-year.
The sharp increase indicates the change in behavior of producers and exporters seeking to arrive as early as possible due to an early Chinese New Year.
