Apples USA: Expected increase Production and Exports

Apple production in the United States will reach 4.6 million tonnes.
The 2016/17 forecast by USDA, the US Department of Agriculture, indicates higher production and higher export volumes.
Production of apples 2016/17 in the United States is expected to increase by 147 000 tonnes to 4.6 million tonnes. Higher production in the western and central states of the country largely compensates for the losses suffered in the eastern states of the country.
This abundant production is expected to increase exports by 77 000 tonnes to 855 000 tonnes. Imports could fall by about 170 000 tonnes.
World production 2016/17 of apples is estimated at 77.6 million tonnes. World trade is expected to increase slightly to 6.6 million tonnes.
