Hinojosa has won the WorldStar Awards 2021 for its Barket, heat-sealing cardboard tray

Hinojosa Packaging Xàtiva, one of the leaders in the packaging sector, has won the WorldStar Awards 2021 for its Barket, corrugated cardboard tray.

To keep up with consumer trends bidding for the most environmentally friendly products, the company has developed Barket, an octagon-shaped corrugated cardboard tray that has proven to be a sustainable alternative to the traditional single-use fruit and vegetable plastic trays.

This sustainable design has won the WorldStar Awards 2021, the most important award in the packaging sector at international level. Barket was the winner of this edition, after winning the Liderpack 2020 prize and being selected to represent the Spanish sector in this market.

Barket is made from recycled corrugated cardboard, which has a lesser environmental impact compared to products manufactured from other materials. The structure of the tray allows a fine heat- sealed film to be fit on top to protect the product. Thus, the use of plastic is reduced to up to 95%. It is also 100% recyclable packaging as both cardboard and film can be easily detachable for disposal in corresponding recycling containers.

In addition, that is important for agricultural companies, it is possible a direct printing on the packaging, as Barket is made of cardboard. Hinojosa's wide range of printing technologies allows to myriad any custom finishes, thereby guaranteeing the brand image and the ensuring company's values to their customers.
