Good performance for the US potato retail market

The 1st quarter of 2024 saw a good performance in US retail sales of fresh potatoes.

 

According to data from Potatoes USA, for this 1st quarter of 2024 and compared to the 1st quarter of 2023, the retail market for fresh potatoes recorded +7.6% in volume and +0.6% in value, reaching 1.069 billion USD.

 

Growth was also seen in the other categories: frozen potatoes were up 10.5% in value and 3.3% in volume, while crisps were up 3.3% in value and 1.7% in volume.

 

For all categories, this 1st quarter of 2024 shows an increase compared to the 1st quarter of 2023 of +5.6% in volume and +4.4% in value, reaching almost 4.6 billion USD.
