Casino experiments with NFC technology in one of its stores in Paris.
The Casino will experiment with contactless technology (NFC: "Near Field Communication") in one of its stores in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
The application, "mCasino NFC" for Android smartphones, BlackBerry and iPhone, allows the use of contactless technology for shopping. By scanning product labels, the application
provides additional information (food composition ...) and add purchases. At checkout, the customer scans his cell phone on another device and selects a payment method.
The implementation is scheduled for October at the supermarket des Belles Feuilles (Paris 16th), after a test phase, Casino could deploy this technology on a national scale.
