Wage path set through 2030.
AILIMPO has signed a new collective agreement for citrus handling with CCOO and UGT, two of Spain’s main trade unions, alongside Murcia-based REDES and agro-food union ISAS. The deal sets a labor framework for more than 25,000 workers in Murcia’s citrus export sector.
The agreement will run until December 31, 2030. It includes a 3% annual wage increase and a review clause linked to the real annual CPI, capped at 2%.
The deal also maintains annual working time at 1,800 hours, extends rest periods, regulates voluntary leave, improves the seniority award and introduces a new retirement award.
In occupational health, the agreement provides for full temporary disability pay from the second day in cases of workplace accidents. It also strengthens safety and health protocols, with attention to the prevention of drug and alcohol-related risks.
AILIMPO said the agreement balances labor stability with the competitiveness of Murcia’s citrus exporters. The organization linked the new framework to the sector’s long-term capacity to supply lemons and grapefruit to international markets.
