Data points to a concentrated export structure, with higher prices offsetting weaker volumes in the first five months of the year.
From January to May 2026, Peru exported $54.63 million in whole paprika, with shipments totalling 12.23 million kilos and an average price of $4.47/kg. Compared with the same period of 2025, export value rose about 10%, while volume fell 32%, showing a campaign driven more by price than tonnage, according to the latest report by Agrodata.
The strongest month was February, with $15.35 million shipped, followed by March at $14.39 million. May reached $9.30 million, below the $10.33 million recorded in May 2025, although the average price was much higher at $4.36/kg versus $2.58/kg a year earlier.
Mexico dominated demand, taking $36.24 million, or 66% of total FOB. The United States followed with $15.17 million and a 28% share. Together, the two markets absorbed about 94% of Peru’s whole paprika export value.
Spain ranked third with $1.56 million, ahead of Guatemala at $1.34 million. Smaller shipments went to El Salvador and other destinations.
