Brazil secures new fruit access to China and Panama

Brazil has concluded new agricultural market access negotiations with China and Panama, creating additional export opportunities for fruit-related products.

In China, sanitary authorities have approved imports of Brazilian fruit pulps and frozen fruit. The Brazilian government said the measure should help add value to the country’s fruit sector and expand commercial options for national producers and exporters.

China remains Brazil’s largest agricultural trade partner. In 2025, Brazilian agribusiness exports to the Chinese market exceeded USD 55 billion.

The new approval is relevant for Brazil’s fruit industry because it focuses on processed and semi-processed products rather than only fresh fruit. This can support higher-value shipments, longer shelf life and wider use by food manufacturers, retailers and distributors in China.

Brazil also obtained authorization from Panama to export coconut seeds. According to the Brazilian government, Panama imported around USD 100 million in Brazilian agricultural products in 2025.

With these two announcements, Brazil has reached 642 market openings for agribusiness products since the beginning of 2023. The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock said the results came from joint work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
