Record in volume and value of exports of potatoes

American exports of potatoes just recorded impressive results .

For the period from July 2013 to June 2014 , American exports of potatoes set a new record that beats the one established in 2012/13 .

The volume of exports totaled 1,643,618 tonnes , +5 % from the previous period, and even +7.5% to fresh products . In value terms, exports reached $ 1.76 billion , an increase of +7% .

Buoyed by Asian demand growth, these increases result from an increase of +10% in the value of exports of frozen potato , by an increase of 6% in exports of dehydrated potatoes and finally an increase of +6% in exports of fresh potatoes .
