The bankruptcy of the largest Russian exporter has increased banana prices by over 50%.
In Russia the price of bananas has increased by over 50% since mid-February.
The price of bananas increased by 51.6% to 51.87 rubles per kilogram (1.78 €). Kommersant, a Russian business newspaper explains this situation by the bankruptcy last month of JFC, the largest Russian exporter of bananas.
