MedFEL : New excellent performance by the Port of Barcelona

Present on the Medfel the Port of Barcelona has once again reported excellent performances in the 1st quarter 2016.

Container traffic increased by 8% during the 1st quarter of the year. The Port of Barcelona has recorded a total traffic of 11.1 million tonnes of freight during the first 3 months of 2016, 5% more than the same period in 2015.

All freight segments increased. Container traffic, closely linked to the productive environment of the economy and consumption, increased by 8% to over 493,000 TEU (TEU is equivalent to a 20-foot container). Foreign trade continued to perform well: export containers increased by 8% and imports by 6%.
