The frosts of September have led to a drop in production and a sharp decline in exports.
Net decline in exports of grapes in Argentina.
Regions of Mendoza, Catamarca, San Juan, La Rioja that had suffered severe frost last September saw their production decline sharply. According to the latest data published by the SENASA, exports reached only 26 723 tons against 42,821 tons in the same period the previous year.
Many farms have decided to convert the production of table grapes into dried grapes. This decision has reduced the cost of production and the need for labor, but it also generated for these companies a significant reduction in turnover.
