Romaine lettuce consumption jumps

Demand for the Romaine variety of lettuce in the USA has exploded in recent months due to the popularity of the Caesar salad. According to a study 75 percent of all full-service restaurants now offer a Caesar salad, compared with 57 percent just a year ago.
