Japanese mushroom producer plans US facility

Japanese mushroom producer Yukiguni is planning to build a mushroom growing facility in New York state. The company plans to produce up to 30 tons of the maitake mushroom variety, a popular delicacy in restaurants. Maitake mushrooms currently sell for about US$22 per kilo on US wholesale markets.
