Argentina remains the dominant supplier.
Peru significantly increased its imports of yellow corn between January and November 2025, driven by both higher volumes and rising import values. Total shipments reached 4.18 million tonnes, up 11.23% from the same period last year, according to the Directorate of Agricultural Statistics (DEA) of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).
Import spending rose even faster, climbing 17.16% year on year to US$ 1.01 billion, compared with US$ 864.4 million recorded in the first eleven months of 2024.
Argentina remained Peru’s dominant supplier, shipping 4.03 million tonnes, an 8% increase year on year and accounting for 96.4% of total imports. Brazil followed with 67,682 tonnes, posting a sharp 635% surge. The United States resumed shipments with 29,312 tonnes, while Bolivia supplied 2,829 tonnes, down 65%. Other origins jointly contributed 50,596 tonnes.
