Following phytosanitary agreements, Vietnam will publish the official requirements while Peru advances in the authorization of packing plants.
Peru and Vietnam have established phytosanitary protocols for exporting fresh mandarins to the Vietnamese market, as announced by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri).
During the meeting, SENASA reported progress on blueberry exports, currently undergoing pest risk analysis. Vietnam indicated that this process would accelerate once mandarin export requirements are finalized.
Following these agreements, Vietnamese authorities will officially publish the phytosanitary requirements, while SENASA will inform which production zones and packing plants are authorized for export.
In 2023, Peru exported over 190,000 tons of mandarins to more than 40 international markets. The United States, the Netherlands, and China were the leading destinations, with the United States accounting for 41% of total exports.
