Peruvian avocados achieve a new export milestone.
In the 2024 season, Peru exported 565,000 tons of fresh avocados, generating $1.217 billion in revenue, according to a Peruvian media outlet. While the export volume decreased by 8% compared to the previous year, the value rose by 23%. This was due to an increase in the average price, which rose to $2.15 per kilogram, a 34% increase compared to 2023.
Peruvian avocados reached 37 destinations, with the main ones being the Netherlands (183,000 tons), Spain (122,000 tons), the United States (70,000 tons), Chile (64,000 tons), and the United Kingdom (42,000 tons).
Seventeen regions of Peru contributed to fresh avocado exports, with Lima (30%), La Libertad (27%), and Ica (22%) leading the way. This year, the total export value of avocados marked a historical record for Peru.
