Peruvian lucuma experiences record growth, reaching 22 international markets by 2024

Chile leads as the main destination for Peruvian lucuma.
Between January and October 2024, Peruvian lucuma exports registered a remarkable 40.1% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching a total of 637.2 tons, according to market analyst Heber Chavez.
This growth has led Peruvian lucuma to position itself as a strategic export product, reaching 22 countries. Chile was consolidated as the main market, absorbing 47.7% of shipments, with an increase of 49.1% over last year. The United States was the second most important destination, accounting for 28.8% of exports, with a growth of 36.5%. Spain completed the podium, capturing 7.5% of Peruvian supply.
The other 19 countries together accounted for the remaining 16% of total exports, evidencing the growing diversification of the international market for this Andean fruit.
