The initial shipment of 15,000 kilograms marks a new step in the expansion of Paraguayan agricultural trade in Argentina.
Paraguay has opened a new market in Argentina with its first shipment of 15,000 kilograms of peppers, according to Agriculture Minister Carlos Giménez.
This achievement is the result of negotiations between the Ministry, Paraguayan producers, and Argentine importers. Argentina demands large peppers, necessitating a pre-shipment classification.
To date, over 15 shipments have been sent to provinces like Santa Fe, Cordoba, Mendoza, and Buenos Aires, generating over 2.2 billion Guaraníes in revenue for Caaguazú producers, according to Karen Leguizamón of the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Importers and Traders.
In addition to peppers, seven shipments of carrots from Itapúa and one shipment of onions from the Paraguayan Chaco have also been exported to Argentina.
Minister Giménez adds that efforts are underway to begin exporting Paraguayan cabbage to the Argentine market, further expanding agricultural trade between the two countries.
