The country is one of the leading global exporters of cherries, apricots, peaches, and legumes but faces regional disparities in export performance.

Uzbekistan plans to increase fruit and vegetable exports to $3.5 billion by next year, building on last year’s $370 million growth in food exports, which brought the total to over $2 billion, according to local reports. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has outlined strategies to boost agricultural production, processing, and exports.

The country is one of the key global exporters of cherries, apricots, peaches, and legumes but faces uneven regional export performance. To address this, initiatives include deploying agricultural specialists, encouraging food cultivation on unused land, and offering incentives to farmers. Investments in agro-logistics centers, refrigerated storage, and organic farming are also improving production efficiency and quality.

Uzbekistan is expanding its international market reach, with successful exports to Oman and plans for further growth in Asia and Europe. Environmental protection and waste management initiatives are also underway to promote sustainable growth. These efforts aim to enhance productivity, global competitiveness, and long-term sustainability in the agricultural sector.
