Despite trade challenges and logistical costs, the sector remains resilient.
Peru’s avocado export outlook for 2025 has been revised. The Hass Avocado Producers and Exporters Association of Peru (ProHass) now estimates exports will reach around 655,000 tonnes — 20% less than initially projected. Still, this marks a 30% increase compared to 2024, showing solid year-on-year growth.
As the season progresses, industry data confirms lower volumes than expected in March. Even so, exports to key international markets remain strong. Shipments to the United States are set to grow by 75% despite higher shipping costs and a new 10% tariff, with the U.S. expected to take 18% of total volume.
Europe remains the top destination, with projected growth of 24% and Peru holding 42% of the market share there. Other important buyers like Chile, China, and Japan are also strengthening ties with Peruvian exporters.
Despite trade challenges and logistical costs, the sector remains resilient — supported by efficient operations, quality standards, and market diversification. ProHass president José Antonio Castro highlighted that collaboration across the industry is key to Peru’s growing global leadership in Hass avocado exports.
