Chile is the main market for Peruvian cherimoya, absorbing more than 95% of total exports. Peru produces around 20,000 tons of cherimoya per year, with Lima as the leading region with 8,000 tons, followed by areas such as Áncash, Arequipa, Cajamarca, Apurímac and Junín.
Peru leads the production and export of cherimoya in South America, followed by Ecuador, Chile, Colombia and Mexico.
