Morocco needs to save water
In Morocco, lots of rain of this autumn doesn't help to eliminate risks of water shortage.
The Agadir area is particularly affected, as drills are dry and an increasing number of farms are abandonned.
This is due to water wastings. Another water supply could be done thanks to sea water, but this solution is far too expensive at the time being. So, there is no other ways to solve this problem than to reduce water wastings.
In terms of irrigation, 2 techniques are most developped fogging and drip.
Agriculture suffers however of a lack of education of farmers and development of specialised companies in that field that are not so serious ...
A new association AMIAG: association of irrigation specialised companies, has been created. This organisation is a representative body with the government. It helps also the farmers to deal with the best irrigation techniques in order to save water.
