According to official statistics, the value obtained for a substantially equivalent amount of products (1,539,227 tonnes against 1,576,296 tonnes in H1 2015) dropped 10 percent. These are vegetables that are experiencing the greatest loss in value (- 30 percent). Fruit, despite a decline in exports of 6 percent, have a value greater than 12 percent compared to 2015 for the same period.
If we look at these figures in relation to exports, we see that the tomato is the first product being exported and 20 percent of total exports. It is the tomato who is the cause of falling prices (- 44%). Cherry holds the second place with an increase of 47 percent to 98% increase in value!
Importing countries are Iraq, Germany, Russia (despite a fall of 80 percent in exports of Turkish fruit and vegetables), Romania and Ukraine.
