Launch of the first stock exchange for dates

With more than 300 different varieties,dates have now a stock exchange.
Saudi Arabia has launched Altomor Exchange, the region’s first electronic exchange for palm dates. It will enable traders to buy and sell dates on their computers.
Dates business represents the major part of Saudi Arabia’s agricultural production.
Storekeepers will present their products on the stock exchange website by identifying the type of product, size, exact volume of their transaction and the planned price.
Saudi Arabia holds 141.000 hectares and 21 million palm trees, producing 884.000 tons dates a year. Its annual production should reach a million tons this year.
