MAAP is given a new director
Change at the top of the MAAP (Agroalimentare Mercato di Padova).
Claudio D'Ascanio, President of CIA Padova (Confederazione Agricoltori Italiana) was appointed to lead the MAAP. He succeeds Franco Fridge, resigned, called for a new Euro-parliamentary role. Claudio D'Ascanio is the president of Padova CIA since 2009, having held numerous positions at both the regional and national level.
This is the first time that a representative from agriculture is leading the wholesale market of Padova. MAAP is ranked at the fifth place at national level in total of approximately 200 wholesale markets. MAAP has 38 companies, makes work nearly 1 000 person, sells about 360 000 tonnes of fresh fruits and vegetables for a turnover of approximately € 400 million.
