Spain pear prices lift with processing up 38%

Spanish trade association Catalonia Qualitat (CQ) says the lighter pear crop is driving prices up with early season Limonera 15-20% higher than last year. The Williams crop is down an estimated 26% and fresh prices are also expected to improve on last year. CQ has negotiated a price increase for Williams pears for processing, up 38% on last season. The price has been set at €0.235 (15.8p), up €0.065 (4p) on last season.
