The figures point to a year of resilient demand but tighter margins for exporters.
Peru closed 2025 with US$399.7m FOB in fresh asparagus exports, down 1% from the US$405.3m recorded in 2024, according to Agrodata. Export volumes, however, moved in the opposite direction, rising 9% year on year to 107,609 tonnes, reflecting solid supply performance across most months.
The average export price fell to US$3.71/kg, compared with US$4.11/kg a year earlier, a drop of around 10%, which offset the higher volumes shipped. Monthly data shows strong export activity in the second half of the year, with October, November and December delivering the highest volumes and values. December alone accounted for 14,712 tonnes and nearly US$56.8m FOB, though prices remained well below 2024 levels.
The United States remained by far Peru’s largest destination, accounting for the majority of export value. Other key markets included the United Kingdom, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany, with Spain and the Netherlands showing relatively stable demand compared with the previous year.
