Vietnam's 1st export of dragon fruit to the Saudi market

Vietnam exports a wide range of products to Saudi Arabia (wood and furniture, aquatic products, beverages, textiles, chemicals, electronic components, computers, telephones, etc.) and a few food products (rice, pepper, cashew nuts, etc.).

 

The Vietnamese media report that the 1st export to Saudi Arabia was of red-fleshed dragon fruit and yellow-fleshed dragon fruit. These Vietnamese products are available in Spinneys shops, a supermarket and hypermarket chain based in the United Arab Emirates and which operates several shops in Saudi Arabia.

 

The Spinneys chain plans to open around twenty more shops in Saudi Arabia and is considering opening a purchasing office in Vietnam. This would be an opportunity for Vietnamese products to strengthen their presence in these markets, particularly Saudi Arabia and the Emirates.
