Italian researchers turn tomato waste into plastic bags

Italian researchers have found a way to turn tomato waste into biodegradable plastic.
The polysaccharide content of the tomato waste is extracted and purified, and is then transformed into an environmentally-friendly plastic which can be used for bags.
