Peruvian society has successfully made a profit despite lower sales, promoting profitable segments of its portfolio.
Camposol has decided to withdraw from unprofitable segments (peppers, artichokes, asparagus). The company will continue to sell its stocks of processed products but the white aspergers crops will be abandoned. White asparagus accounted for 12% of total sales for the 1st quarter 2016.
Over the same period blueberry exports grew strongly becoming the segment "fresh" flagship product. In 6 months blueberries exports reached 69% of the volume shipped last year. This increase is due to the increased production in the 1st quarter and the company plans to further strengthen to triple its exports.
Avocados and blueberries have already replaced the white asparagus on nearly 2600 hectares. These two cultures as well as mango have good prospects of international sales for this year and for the coming years.
