The European leader in cherry tomato diversifies its range of processed products and flavor varieties.
The cooperative Granada La Palma presented at FL Berlin its new fifth range products such as vegan burgers, sauces and tomato jams. Its marketing manager Estibaliz Gurruchaga explained to Fructidor digital editor Pierre Escodo how the cooperative continues to lead the specialty tomato segment with fresh and processed flavored products such as Amela, Adora and Murice tomatoes.
Amela tomato: Spanish and Japanese fusion
It has been successfully introduced since 2022 thanks to its unique flavor, an authentic explosion of aromas, strength and vitality. Its sweetness amazes with a high brix level, in perfect balance with a slight acidity and aromas of freshly cut fruit. The Amela variety was imported from Japan, where it leads the "gourmet" segment. Amela is a new tomato concept, based on the fusion of two Spanish and Japanese cultures. The great know-how of the cooperative in Cherry tomatoes, together with the extraordinary natural resources of the Tropical Coast of Granada (natural light and the pure water of Sierra Nevada), enhanced its exceptional organoleptic and nutritional qualities. Granada la Palma won with Amela the Fruit Logística Innovation Award 2022.
Murice®to seduce consumers
