Increases in volume and value for the dried fruit exports

Chilean exports of dried fruit just recorded spectacular growth.

PASO (Oficina de Estudios y Políticas Agrarias ) announced that for the period January-April 2015 dried fruit exports totaled 7,336 tonnes and USD 51.5 million reported . An increase of 26% in volume and + 33 % in value compared to the same period last year .

The main products are whole hazelnuts (USD 15.4 million ) , shelled hazelnuts (USD 12.7 million ) , walnuts in shell (USD 11.6 million ).

Destination countries , by value , are Italy (31%) , Turkey (21%) , Brazil (15%) , Venezuela (10%) , Germany ( 5%), Argentina ( 3%), Ecuador ( 2%), Switzerland ( 2%) and the Netherlands ( 2%).
