Slow Increase of Costa Rica Ananas Export

Export of ananas from Costa Rica will slowly increase this year. In 2006 sale of this fruit doubled to 32% comparing to previous year. Despite the fact that the ananas export from Costa Rica isn't still very strong, the production of fruit in this country develops dynamically since the beginning of this century. President of the Chamber of Producers and Exporters of Ananas estimated this slower pace of export as a normal stabilization of the exporters' activities after unusual boost in production and export of ananas from the first part of the decade. He forecasts ananas export reach the level of 1.38 million of tons in 2007.
