The arrival of Comafruit in Mali is going to develop fruit and vegetables (mangoes, bananas, guavas, tomatoes).
Mali is one of the biggest producers of fruit and vegetables of the UEMOA (West African Economic and monetary Union) but only export 10 % of its production.
These low exports result from a lack of packaging units and from processing.
Comafruit, specialized in collection, processing, packaging and marketing, settles down in Mali. A new unity has just been inaugurated.
Comafruit gave himself an initial objective to transform 100 000 tons of mangoes a year. The annual production is estimated at 260 000 tons.
Comafruit will make mainly mangoes, bananas, guava, papaya and tomatoes in puree. The company also plans to introduce new cultures, as passion fruit or pomegranate to widen its range of products.
Products marketing will be assured by Comafruit France on the international market.
