Usually in the state of Maharashtra the grapes export season starts in early January but this year exports started much earlier.
Since the beginning of December, grape exports have started. With already more than 300 containers shipped to Russia, Malaysia and the Middle East.
According to Grape Growers Association, the association of grape producers, the season has started very positively. Export prices are much more interesting for producers than prices for the domestic market and the quality of the products is considered excellent.
This season, state winemakers aim to increase their exports to Europe by 20 to 25%.
