Forecasts are positive for Australian table grape production and exports in the 2023/24 season.
A recent GAIN report issued by the USDA, the US Department of Agriculture, forecasts that Australian table grape production is set to reach a record 220,000 tonnes in the 2023/24 marketing year.
That's +4.76% on the 2022/23 campaign (210,000 tonnes) and the production record surpassing the previous record set in the 2019/20 campaign (214,700 tonnes).
With the increase in production, table grape exports for this 2023/24 campaign should reach 140,000 tonnes. That's +6.71% on the 131,200 tonnes exported during the 2022/23 campaign.
The main destination markets are Asia (China, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong), which account for 80 to 85% of Australian table grape exports.
