40% of world citrus production proceeds from Americas

34% of citrus is harvested on the American continents. Furthermore, 40% of production and trade in citrus is of American origin. Of the 135 citrus producing countries in the world, 35 are on the American continents, including three of the ten biggest producers (Brazil, USA and Mexico). Also the largest producers of limes and lemons, Mexico and Argentina, are in this category
