Fresh Produce Instruments and its partners Catalytic Generators, Felix Instruments and Sunforest will share a stand at Fruit Logistica 2026 in Berlin, presenting a cross-section of tools focused on ripening, quality measurement and postharvest conditions for fresh produce supply chains.
Fresh Produce Instruments (FPI), headquartered in the Netherlands, will showcase its latest ripening, quality control and postharvest solutions at Fruit Logistica 2026 in Berlin. The company will be exhibiting in Hall 1.2, Stand D-40.
FPI works with produce companies to improve ripening consistency, reduce waste and extend shelf life. At this year’s show, the focus will be on practical technologies designed for everyday use in ripening rooms, packhouses and distribution centres.
One of the key highlights will be catalytic ethylene generation systems supplied by FPI’s long-term partner, Catalytic Generators. These systems generate ethylene directly inside the ripening room, avoiding the need to store or handle compressed gas. This helps improve safety while delivering even and reliable ripening results.
A single generator can typically serve rooms ranging from 57 m³ to 300 m³, and even larger spaces when rooms are well sealed. Thanks to their compact and lightweight design, the units can be moved easily between rooms. This allows operators to work with fewer generators than the total number of ripening chambers and expand capacity gradually as demand grows. Controlled ethylene use supports natural fruit maturation, helping achieve uniform colour and readiness, particularly for bananas and avocados.
Alongside ripening systems, FPI will present a range of quality measurement tools that support better decision-making across the supply chain.
From Felix Instruments, the F-751 avo will be demonstrated. The device measures avocado dry matter in seconds without cutting the fruit, helping growers and packers assess maturity and plan harvest and distribution more accurately. Visitors will be able to test the instrument at the stand.
Sunforest will showcase the H-100C, a non-destructive device designed to quickly assess avocado maturity. By using the H-100C, operators can reduce waste, improve storage management and deliver fruit to market at optimal ripeness.
FPI will also demonstrate non-destructive firmness testers for berries. These tools allow quality control teams to instantly assess texture and ripeness, supporting better sorting decisions and longer shelf life.
For storage and logistics environments, the company will present Airocide®, originally developed for NASA, as well as Jupitair, an alternative solution from a European manufacturer. Both technologies remove airborne pathogens, excess ethylene and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), helping control mould, reduce cross-contamination and maintain fruit quality during storage and transport.
In addition to the solutions on display, Fresh Produce Instruments works through a partner network to offer tailored tools based on specific operational needs.
Visitors are invited to meet the team at Fruit Logistica 2026, Hall 1.2, Stand D-40, or to schedule an on-site or online meeting by sending an inquiry.
