Towards a new record for vegetable production in greenhouses

In Russia greenhouse vegetable production continues to grow and is likely to set a new record this year.

 

 

 

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, greenhouse vegetable harvests, as of November 8, 2018, compared to the same period of the previous year, increased by 27.3%, for a total of 839,400 tonnes.

 

 

 

In this volume, cucumbers (506,600 tonnes or + 16.3%), tomatoes (319,500 tonnes or + 49.8%) and other vegetables (13,300 tonnes or + 30.3%).

 

 

 

According to forecasts, the total harvest for 2018 could reach 1 million tonnes, far exceeding the volumes produced last year.
