Export of fruit and vegetables will sharply rise

According to forecasts, exports of fruit and vegetables of Vietnam will continue to rise this year and for certain destinations will be up sharply.
The Association of Fruit and vegetables of Vietnam (Vinafruit) indicated that the value of industry exports reached 471.5 million dollars last year, an increase of 7.4% for fruit and 4.9 % for vegetables. China and Japan, the first two destinations of Vietnamese products confirm their high demand.
Almost 50% of Vietnamese exports goes to China, which is worth 235 million dollars. Exports to Japan last year totaled $ 54.5 million, an increase of 26.3%. Second largest importer after China, the Japanese demand is steadily increasing and is growing by over 10% a year over year.
After China and Japan, the main customers of Vietnamese products are the Netherlands, Russia and the United States. The U.S. market has increased its demand for fresh products and should continue as other countries to increase its demand for tropical fruits more than 8%.
Vietnam estimates that demand for agricultural products in the European Union, especially France, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Germany expected to rise 1.8% annually for the next 5 years.
