Amazon wants to get into the delivery of fresh products and food.
Amazon has established a delivery service of fresh products in the city of Seattle. This service, Amazon Fresh, serves some areas of the city, the cradle of society. After a few months of experimentation, Amazon plans to extend this service to other cities, Los Angeles firstly, then San Francisco and in case of success, 20 other cities.
This diversification would allow to Amazon to continue to increase its growth and the price of its shares. Attack a market that manages 568 billion $ in the United States, addressing a niche where other companies have not really succeeded, to profit from foods with low margins to boost the sales of more profitable products.
A markets specialist has however commented "The fear is that the food is a loss factor. There are very frightening perspectives on the food market."
