The Association of Small Producers of organic bananas expects a 20% decline in production.
Anticipation of a decline in the production of organic bananas.
CEPIBO (Asociaciones de Pequeños Productores of Banano Orgánico) predicts a 20% decline of the production in the Chira Valley. The cause, parasites "mancha roja" (red spot) and "grudge" (Ladder) which affected 50% of the plantations.
Producers were able to control the disease and hope to find a normal production by the end of February.
