Shipments from exporters not affiliated with ProHass have remained constant.
The Peruvian Hass Avocado Producers Association (ProHass) initially forecast a 16% decrease in Hass avocado exports for 2024 compared to the previous year (597,500 tons). However, the reduction is now expected to be only 10%. Juan Carlos Paredes, president of ProHass, explained that shipments from exporters not affiliated to ProHass have remained constant, unlike the large and medium-sized exporters affiliated to the guild, who have seen their shipments decrease.

Paredes pointed out that the other exporters have maintained shipments of more than 250 containers per week (21.5 tons per container), even when normally from week 18 onwards the frequency begins to decrease. "If this trend persists for four more weeks, the total reduction would be 10% instead of the 16% initially estimated," he said.

In terms of destinations, Europe continues to be the main market, although its share has dropped to 60%, while Asia has increased due to higher demand and better prices. In the United States, the lack of supply from California and Mexico will benefit Peruvian exports, and Peruvian avocado prices are expected to rise, reducing the difference with fruit from those countries.
