Signed in Auckland, New Zealand, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between IQA (Indonesian Quarantine Authority) and MPI (New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries) aims to strengthen cooperation on sanitary and phytosanitary measures and certification.
Signed in Auckland, New Zealand, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoA) between IQA (Indonesian Quarantine Authority) and MPI (New Zealand Ministry of Primary Industries) aims to strengthen cooperation on sanitary and phytosanitary measures and certification.
Among the elements covered by this agreement: the plan to export fresh fruit and vegetables from Indonesia to New Zealand, fresh pineapples can now be exported to New Zealand. Similarly, global provisions have been defined for the export of onions from New Zealand to Indonesia.
In addition, the 2 parties have agreed to implement electronic certification systems to facilitate smoother and more efficient trade processes, thereby reducing paperwork and administrative burdens.
The MoA is expected to boost trade volumes between Indonesia and New Zealand, with benefits for farmers, exporters and consumers in both countries.
