Looking ahead to 2026, AEBE stresses the need to boost competitiveness and diversify markets.
Ecuador’s banana exports rose 3.38 % year on year through November 2025, according to the Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador (AEBE). Total shipments reached approximately 344.9 million boxes, reflecting continued growth but a recovery that remains uneven.
AEBE noted that growth slowed in the latter part of the year, with gains concentrated in a few key markets, while others showed weaker momentum. The association stressed that although the sector remains in positive territory, export performance is still sensitive to external pressures, including changes in global demand, logistics challenges, and supply chain costs.
As the industry transitions into 2026, AEBE emphasised the importance of strengthening competitiveness and market diversification to support sustainable export momentum throughout the year.
