Hungarian apple crop to decrease
Hungary
Monday 12 September 2005
The Hungarian apple crop for 2005/06 is expected to be over 30 percent lower than last year.
Production is expected to be around 440,000 tonnes, down from 470,000 tonnes, due to unfavourable weather conditions in the spring and summer.
More than 50 percent of Hungary's apple crop goes for processing, most of which is for apple juice.
