A Bollywood star actor promotes BELORTA pears in India.
In India, the volume of imported pears has grown well (+ 35%) and the market has recently received the Pears CONFERENCE from BELORTA (Belgium).
For their promotion in the country the pears BELORTA have a precious ally: Sonu Sood, one of the leading actors of the Indian cinema.
With imported pears, especially those received from Europe, consumers discover new flavors and take a liking to these varieties. Importers explain that inventories are sold quickly and demand is growing.
Between 2001 and 2015 pear consumption doubled in India to around 365 000 tonnes. The city of Mumbai is at the top of the ranking for consumption of pears in the country.
